I love Sir Thomas and Lady Dixon Gardens, i do try avoid it during Rose Week!! However no matter the season these gardens are beautiful to explore on a family photography session. I was so so lucky to get to do an Outdoor Newborn Session with the gorgeous Jodie & Ryan. What a blissful little couple they are, so lovely to watch them with their first child, and interact with each other. Considering they are first time parents, they are ROCKING IT!! Seriously when my son was born i was a walking bag of nerves. Not these guys they rocked it and their daughter…… OH.MY.GOSH. seriously what a chilled happy little girl.
The Saturday we planned for the outdoor shoot couldn’t have gone any better, the sun came out. Yes that big burning star in the sky made a freak appearance. I believe it may have disappeared again, I miss it already. Sir Thomas and Lady Dixon Gardens was packed, every person in Belfast decided to blow off the cobwebs of winter. The ice cream truck ran out of ice-cream and the coffee shop was super busy. I say this constantly we are very very fortunate to live in this little corner of the universe. The more I travel looking for locations the more i find beautiful parks on our doorsteps, although they may be small they are still beautifully maintained.
The grounds keepers of Lady Dixon Gardens are doing a phenomenal job, especially when the gardens are busy they are still maintained to the highest of standards. If you haven’t been then i really recommend you pay them a visit… anyho i digress.
Baby girl was a dream to photograph, her eyes are amazing, the violet colour in her eyes is completely models own !!

The joy i find in Lifestyle Newborn Shoots can be seen above. I love to capture the little details of baby compared to Mummy and Daddy. Sometimes when we do a Posed Newborn Shoot the teeny tiniest details get lost. Baby girl holding onto her Daddy’s finger, baby girl being rocked to sleep in Mummy’s arms. These types of images make my heart fill with joy. When i meet a brand new human it is so exciting and nerve racking at the same time. I completely understand how precious they are, which in turn makes me super nervous around them!
This is a beautiful family and im so fortunate i got to spend the afternoon with them, even though i kept falling down. Seriously Jodie and Ryan must have wondered what was going on that i couldnt stay on my feet !!
You know how some days its hard to stay upright??
No…. just me…. ok then.
