Cake Smash at home – Belfast

Each and every one of my Cake Smash at home sessions have been different and unique.  Just like your little human I like to build a cake smash session around you guys.  So what to expect when you book a session with me.  We will have a chat about your little person.  It’s important for you to know I do not provide the cup cakes or cake for the smash.  Due to so many allergies that we are more aware of now, I tend to let mum & dad organise the cake.  Although I do always advise please don’t spend a fortune.  Tescos, Marks & Spencers and Sainsbury’s all do sweet little birthday cakes.

Or you could even decorate a Victoria sponge yourself.  Wee buns!

The actual setting up of the cake smash at home I organise.  I will arrive approx 45 minutes before your little human is ready to get stuck into their cake.  I have a few wee odds & ends that I bring but I do mainly work with what is in your home, because this is what makes it super personal.

 

We will have balloons, some few decorations.  For one session there was a beautiful antique rocking horse we included in the background, making it very personal to grandmother.  I have had Cake Smash at home sessions that have included grandparents & very close family.  Its amazing fun when everyone gets stuck in to try the cake and have their little human give them hugs covered in icing.

It is truly a joyful afternoon.

 

As is an outdoor cake smash.  We don’t need a lot of room, after all your little human is pretty small.  I love outdoor photography because there is just something about being in the fresh air.  Everyone relaxes when there is a bit of space and fresh air and thats no different for your little human.  So when I’ve been able to move the session outdoors it has always been a huge success.  Some of my outdoor locations for a cake smash have included Lady Dixon Gardens, Ormeau Park and in amongst the flowers at Musgrave Park.

 

I do try and keep everything really simple & sweet because im always much more interested in the connections.  The joy and giggles are what make the cake smash sessions so unique.  The focus is your little human and the props are really just there as a soft element in the background.  It’s always about your little human enjoying themselves with mummy & daddy, or with big brother or sister at the end of the day.

your Cake Smash at home photo shoot will come with HR digitals from your session.

You can print as many copies as you like for family & friends.  Share on social media, they are your memories.  My package also includes a beautiful framed print of your choice from the afternoon.  It really is such a lovely way to celebrate your first year together, that alone is a huge achievement.  You made it through the sleepless nights, sore toothy pegs & countless runny noses.  You deserve to celebrate.
